This week we interview our Featured Craftsman from Episode 8, Mary May (Website, Carving School, Instagram, YouTube). Mary has been wood carving for 25 years, and her experience shows in the exceptional quality of her work. She had the opportunity to begin her career under the direction of an expert carver, Constantino, who taught her the traditional carvings methods she still uses today. After building a successful career in commissioned work, Mary has increasingly moved in the direction of teaching. With Mary’s online school, she is preserving this incredible art form for generations with quality educational videos covering all aspects of wood carving.
