In our eighth episode we had the pleasure of speaking with Daniel Taylor (Instagram) about the virtue of patience in the shop. Patience is the virtue of staying calm in the face of adversity, responding with meekness instead of anger. Patience is a remedy for anger and a source of self-control.
“In sickness and ill fortune, in the difficulties of our occupations, in our weaknesses, let us have serenity of mind, for the love of God: ‘And bear fruit in patience’ (Luke 8:15).”
Weekly Challenge
- What methods of preventing impatience do you use?
- When do you lose patience while woodworking? What can you do to be more patient in those situations?
Be sure to let us know on social media by tagging us and using the hashtag #stayvirtuous so everyone can find the conversation and join in! Especially, those of you that have a different perspective as a full-time or part-time woodworker.
